Bruce Lithgow is a Managing Director in Major, Lindsey & Africa’s Midwest Partner Practice Group. Bruce focuses on representing individual partners and partner groups in the lateral marketplace, as well as law firms engaging in mergers and group acquisitions. Bruce’s seventeen years of combined experience practicing law in Chicago at a boutique firm, a full-service regional firm, and a major global law firm provides him with unique market and practical insights that allow him to give expert advice to law firm partners navigating the lateral partner market and law firms exploring potential mergers and acquisitions.
Over the course of his seventeen-year career practicing law prior to joining MLA, Bruce was a partner in Baker & McKenzie’s Corporate & Financial Restructuring department, a partner in Bell, Boyd & Lloyd’s (now K&L Gates) Restructuring & Bankruptcy department, and an associate at Sperling & Slater, a litigation boutique. Bruce was actively involved in recruiting at both Baker & McKenzie and Bell, Boyd, serving as the primary on-campus recruiter at the University of Chicago and as an active Recruiting Committee member for many years.
Bruce received his J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School in 1994 and his B.A., summa cum laude, with combined majors in business management and liberal arts, from Utah State University in 1991.
