Heather Fine is a Managing Director in Major, Lindsey & Africa's Chicago office where she specializes in placing attorneys in corporate legal departments in a wide range of industries in a variety of locations. Heather has recently handled searches ranging from lower-level corporate counsel positions to vice president and general counsel roles in industries such as manufacturing, consumer products, telecommunications, sporting goods, professional services, financial services, and higher education, among others.
Prior to joining MLA, Heather worked for several years at the Children’s Law Center in Washington, D.C., first as a Staff Attorney and then as a Supervising Attorney, representing abused and neglected children in the foster care system. She also served as Counsel for the U.S. Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs’ Special Investigation into the response to Hurricane Katrina. Heather began her legal career as an Associate in a boutique family law firm in Bethesda, Maryland assisting clients with divorce, custody, support and adoption matters.
Heather graduated from Colby College with a degree in government. Prior to entering law school, Heather worked on Capitol Hill for Senator Joseph Lieberman. She then returned to her home state to attend the Pennsylvania State University’s Dickinson School of Law where she represented at-risk children and families as a Student Attorney in the Family Law Clinic and graduated with honors.
