Heather Fine is a Managing Director in Major, Lindsey & Africa's Chicago office where she specializes in placing attorneys in corporate legal departments in a variety of industries. Heather has handled searches ranging from Corporate Counsel positions to General Counsel roles in industries such as manufacturing, consumer products, telecommunications, sporting goods, retail, pharmaceuticals, health care, professional services, financial services and higher education. Some of her recent placements include the General Counsel of Schnitzer Steel Industries, the General Counsel of IDEX Corporation, the General Counsel of The Joint Commission, the Deputy General Counsel of the University of Michigan and the Chief IP Counsel of Ecolab.
Prior to joining MLA, Heather worked for several years at the Children's Law Center in Washington, D.C., first as a Staff Attorney and then as a Supervising Attorney, representing abused and neglected children in the foster care system. She also served as Counsel for the U.S. Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs' Special Investigation into Hurricane Katrina. Heather began her legal career in a boutique firm in Bethesda, Maryland.
Heather graduated from Colby College with a bachelor's degree in government. Prior to entering law school, she worked on Capitol Hill for Senator Joseph Lieberman. Heather then returned to her home state to attend the Pennsylvania State University's Dickinson School of Law where she graduated with honors.
