Vice President - Intellectual Property
Our client, a global company and industry leader specializing in the design, development, manufacturing, distribution and sales of computerized casino gaming machines and systems products, has retained Major, Lindsey & Africa on an exclusive basis to conduct their search for a Vice President – Intellectual Property. This opportunity will allow the right candidate to be the Head of the IP Legal team for an innovative industry leader. He/she will be responsible for providing IP legal and strategic support and counsel across the Company. The ideal candidate will work closely with the design teams and product management teams on all IP strategic initiatives; protect the company’s intellectual properties, strategize on IP litigation and risks, and implement standardized IP processes and documentation.
Required experience includes: understanding of Patents and Trademarks, Third Party Development Contracts, and Gameplay Mathematics; proven track record in establishing a comprehensive IP strategy; established understanding of both the legal and business issues related to intellectual property in a corporate environment; demonstrated ability to articulate and promote the strategic significance of the IP program relative to the company’s business strategies and plans; and prior supervisory experience in a similar role.
Qualifications include: 15+ years of legal experience after graduating law school or equivalent experience with at least 10+ years of experience in private or corporate legal practice specializing in patents; admission to one or more state bars; registration with the USPTO; and a technical degree.
The successful candidate will be required to pass a background check and a drug screening.
