Counsel - Intellectual Property

Our client, a global company and industry leader specializing in the design, development, manufacturing, distribution and sales of computerized casino gaming machines and systems products, has retained Major, Lindsey & Africa on an exclusive basis to conduct their search for an Intellectual Property Counsel. This position will report to the VP-Intellectual Property and be primarily responsible for patent prosecution (gaming systems and related patents) and other general IP matters. The ideal candidate will be proactive, diligent and demonstrate excellent business judgment. This position will be based in Nevada.

Required experience includes: experience drafting and prosecuting patents in a law firm or in-house legal department; ability to negotiate and draft licensing agreements; understanding of patent litigation and litigation management; demonstrated ability and presence to interact and advise senior management.

Qualifications include: JD degree from an ABA accredited law school; 5-7+ years of experience with a focus on patent law; admission to one or more state bars and be willing to sit for the Nevada State Bar if requested; registration with the USPTO and licensed to practice in the US. A technical degree is required.

The successful candidate will be required to pass a background check and a drug screening.
