Having arrived in Singapore in 1999 and stepping into legal search, I have developed a strong reputation as objective, informed, consultative and honest. My knowledge of varying market conditions, history of the market, team structure and market compensation enables me to provide a unique viewpoint and comprehensive consulting service to individual clients and candidates. I never "hard sell" and always make sure to have the "best fit" in mind and the interests of my clients and candidates at heart.
Ash Raivadera is Head of the Partner Practice Group for South Asia, establishing our Singapore office in 2016. He works closely with his colleagues throughout the region and world to present and identify more opportunities with major international laws firms. With a focus on senior-level search, Ash works closely with his Associate Practice Group colleagues in Hong Kong to help firms in Singapore fill their more junior needs as well.
As a father of three girls, Ash, along with his wife, spends most of his spare time ferrying the kids to ballet, netball, music and drama classes. Ash is also a keen cricketer, still playing the veterans version of the game, which is much slower than it used to be.
Ash is an English-qualified solicitor who spent five years in London law firms before heading to Singapore. He moved to Singapore in 1999, where he embarked on a career in legal recruitment with an Asian-based executive search firm. In January 2001, he joined the Singapore office of global recruitment specialist Robert Walters, where he helped establish and run the legal recruitment desk for Southeast Asia. From there, he moved to global legal recruitment specialist Hughes-Castell as a senior consultant and business development manager in 2003, leaving them at the end of 2005 to establish his own firm, ATR Associates Pte Ltd.
He has extensive experience assisting international law firms, banks and international corporations in various industry sectors. In more recent years, Ash worked on counsel and partner placements with international law firms in Singapore and Southeast Asia, providing strategic advice and detailed market analysis to global, regional and local heads.
As the region has grown, Ash has become involved in helping firms to find a solution for their Singapore law offering or a Jakarta office solution. Recent work in this area includes assisting a major global firm to restructure their offering in Jakarta and helping a UK city firm to find a Singapore law firm to engage in an alliance.
Ash has also helped US firms and English City practices open their offices in Singapore – recently working with a growing UK firm to open a Singapore office and helping a large US firm to open an office in Singapore.
