As one of MLA's most experienced in-house search consultants, my passion for establishing long and productive relationships with my clients and investing the time to understand their needs is second to none. I understand and use relevant market intelligence to provide a short list of highly qualified and properly motivated candidates for my clients in a timely fashion. I believe that maintaining regular communication with my clients is a key component to my clients’ successes.

Ben Lawrence serves as Managing Director leading Major, Lindsey & Africa's In-House Practice Group in the Charlotte, N.C., office. He is focused on general counsel, senior level attorney and compliance searches for a broad range of corporate clients across the South and Southeast.

As a result of Ben's retained search firm and large corporate experience, he is adept at learning and understanding the professional requirements, needs, objectives and philosophies of both his clients and attorney candidates. He offers his clients the experience of implementing a rigorous recruiting methodology combined with accurate and methodical candidate assessments and comparisons to ensure that his clients are in a position to hire the candidates that fit their exact specifications.

Ben resides in Hickory, N.C., with his wife, Joan. He loves cycling, cross-training, football, basketball, and golf. He is very curious by nature and enjoys reading and learning in general, especially relating to people, life and technology. He is involved in his local church and enjoys serving in the local prison ministry.

Ben possesses nearly 25 years of retained executive recruiting experience, serving the senior-level recruiting needs of many of the Fortune 500, as well as small to mid-sized companies. He services companies and organizations in many industries, including financial services, manufacturing, biotechnology, healthcare, real estate development, mortgage banking and government. He also has experience working as an executive search consultant inside a major corporation, which has equipped him with an enhanced perspective regarding the skills required by candidates to succeed in a complex and collaborative corporate environment.
