Debbie Tang is a Managing Director in the Washington, D.C., In-House Practice Group. Having served as a corporate counsel at a Fortune 200 company and general counsel of a global company, Debbie brings a unique insider's perspective to the corporations she partners with and the candidates she places. Her clients value her judgment as someone who has been in-house and seen first-hand the qualities of a successful in-house attorney. Debbie gets to know her corporate clients in order to develop a true understanding of their business needs and culture so that she can assist them in building strong legal teams.
Debbie's practice focuses on senior-level and general counsel positions within both Fortune 500 and private companies, as well as associations, non-profits and educational institutions. Her industry expertise includes hospitality, healthcare and government contracting.
Debbie is fluent in Mandarin Chinese and often works with our international offices to help U.S. clients with overseas hiring needs.
A native of McLean, Va., Debbie did the unthinkable and crossed the river, currently living in Bethesda, Md. An avid runner who has completed the Marine Corps Marathon three times and two triathlons, she now spends her free time running after her three-year-old son and one-year-old daughter.
Prior to joining Major, Lindsey & Africa, Debbie served as corporate counsel at Marriott International. She continues to act as general counsel for her family's international restaurant chain.
She began her legal career in private practice as a real estate associate at Troutman Sanders and Reed Smith.
