I help lawyers and law firms navigate their paths in today's global legal market. I am particularly passionate about helping women in the profession achieve their career goals. I have developed a reputation for discreet, professional and forthright advice, which brings to bear not just local market trends but also the impact on the London market of events and trends elsewhere.

Melinda Wallman is the founder of the London and Hong Kong offices of Major, Lindsey & Africa. She led our international expansion until 2009 and is now in charge of our EMEA Partner Practice Group. She specialises in senior-level search on behalf of law firms, financial institutions, funds and multinational companies in London and internationally.

Melinda is committed to helping women achieve their career goals and to helping law firms and companies recruit, retain and develop female talent. She sits on our Diversity Council. In 2009, she launched, "Managing your Career: the XX Advantage," a network and quarterly breakfast seminar series for senior women lawyers.


Prior to joining Major, Lindsey & Africa in New York in 1999, Melinda was a corporate lawyer at Gilbert & Tobin, Sydney, then she commenced her search career with a major British consultancy in London, opening their Sydney office and developing their cross-border UK-Australia business. She has worked as a search consultant in London, Hong Kong, New York and Sydney.
