I want every client I partner with to willingly offer to write a glowing recommendation based on what I have achieved for them and their company. I take a great deal of pride in my work ethic, my work quality and the long-term benefit to my clients. As one of my clients, a global LNG shipping company HRD said, 'In HR, we sometimes see search partners who do things their own way and are single-mindedly focused on just closing the deal. Nina’s approach for our global GC search was adaptive and her objective was to make sure we found the best candidate.'

Nina Gray leads the Energy and Manufacturing sectors in our EMEA In-House Practice Group, where she focuses on general counsel search and the expansion of in-house legal teams. She excels at high-level executive search, primarily general counsel, who thrive on challenges and seek to improve their employers' bottom line. Her experience is global, with more than 20 years' experience in North America and more than eight years in EMEA. Nina is in a unique position to help clients with their global in-house expansions, including those seeking their first general counsel. Her clients range from start-ups to major globally listed companies. Clients recognize Nina for her honesty, integrity and excellence. She has been publicly recognized by clients as someone they trust implicitly in understanding the company culture and making the right selection on a shortlist to fit with the company profile, not just the job specification. In addition, she has been complimented by clients for never giving up until the job is properly done and has been recognized repeatedly for success on tricky searches.

Nina enjoys all cultures and learning in new environments. She moved to London in 2008 with her husband, a lawyer, who has a long history of working in the oil and gas sector, and now has dual citizenship (UK and USA). She has three sons who have lived in Texas, China, the UK, Germany and Australia and she also has a German/American granddaughter who was born in Berlin. She loves nature, travel, beaches, creative writing, tennis, flower gardening and spending time at her home in the state of Maine. One of the most important things to her in life is her family and friends and spending time with them. She now enjoys "the football and rugby" in the UK and Europe more than many American sports and tremendously enjoys working in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Experience

Prior to joining Major, Lindsey & Africa, Nina worked for a New York-based national legal search firm early in her career where she spent time in NYC and then established the firm's Houston and Dallas markets. From here, she went on to serve as one of the founding principals of a Texas-based legal search firm that consistently ranked as one of the top 10 legal search firms in the United States.

After having her third son, Nina established and owned a highly regarded executive legal search firm placing general counsel, senior in-house attorneys and partners with global law firms in major cities in the United States and abroad. From her Texas roots and background, Nina maintains a special interest and strong background in the energy, mining, shipping and manufacturing sectors; however, she also enjoys and has been highly successful in a wider spectrum of industries including media, entertainment and technology.
