Stephanie E. Labuz Managing Director

Stephanie Labuz

My career as an executive legal search consultant is a privilege. Each day I drive positive and meaningful change for some of the best companies in the world. Acting as an advisor to my clients, I help them to crystalize their critical business issues and culture, and revise their definition of success for a new hire to incorporate these elements. I then recruit outstanding attorneys that have the attributes and aspirations to not only do the work well but to make the company stronger.

Stephanie E. Labuz is a Managing Director with our In-House Practice Group. She focuses on senior-level searches for in-house legal departments of clients in a wide range of industries. The industries she has experience with include chemicals, construction, consumer products, financial services, healthcare, manufacturing, medical device, not-for-profits, pharmaceuticals, real estate and telecommunications.

Stephanie lives in the Philadelphia suburbs and is originally from Syracuse, New York, where she learned to play golf at the age of seven and developed a love for the great outdoors. She takes pride in leading a healthy and fit lifestyle and loves weight training, cooking clean and competing in Spartan races. She also enjoys family time, fishing and boating off the South Shore of Long Island, skiing, traveling, practicing meditation and studying organizational psychology.

Prior to joining Major, Lindsey & Africa, Stephanie practiced as in-house corporate counsel at O’Brien & Gere, a global engineering and environmental consulting firm that specializes in delivering project solutions to clients facing energy, environmental, water and facility issues. Her broad practice included corporate, commercial, intellectual property, employment, regulatory, tax, insurance, corporate governance and litigation matters. She also previously served as a clerk to the Honorable Victor J. DiNubile Jr. of the Philadelphia County Court of Common Pleas, assisting in various civil litigation matters.

Stephanie graduated with honors from James Madison University with a bachelor's degree in political science. She then attended Villanova University School of Law where she was the managing editor of the Environmental Law Journal and worked as a student attorney in the school's Federal Tax Clinic.  Stephanie received the Federal Tax Clinic Award for her significant contribution to the clinic and continues to volunteer at low-income taxpayer clinics in Philadelphia.
