Erasing the Stigma — Lora Cheadle

Lora Cheadle, former attorney, life choreographer and author, shares her story of her internal struggle between embracing her authentic self and conforming to society’s restrictions and how that led her on a journey to self-discovery and acceptance. In this episode of Erasing the Stigma with Mark Yacano, Lora encourages women, in particular, to discover what they love and embrace movement.

Former attorney turned author, speaker, and radio personality Lora Cheadle empowers women to drop their cover and show themselves for who they are, not who they think they should be. Her mission is to shift the energy women spend in proving their worth and conforming to external standards into validating themselves and enjoying the lives they have worked so hard to create. With a unique combination of intellect, humor and emotional depth, Lora show women how to dismantle their own constricting beliefs, shed the labels, roles and scripts that no longer suit them, and embody all facets of who they are in everything that they do. Integrating her unique identities as an attorney, hypnotherapist, minister, burlesque dancer and aficionado of all things fitness related, Lora works with women worldwide to overcome the frustration and overwhelm of dancing backwards in heels. She is passionate about getting women to turn around and create their own dance.

As a life choreographer, Lora is the creator of FLAUNT! and Find Your Sparkle coaching programs, workshops, and destination retreats, which utilize the concepts found in burlesque to show women how to playfully release self-judgment and integrate their smart, sexy and spiritual selves into everything they do. She is the founder of the FLAUNT! Follies, a dance troupe for women of all ages and abilities.

Named an Exceptional Woman of Excellence by the Women Economic Forum in India in 2019, as well as being a plenary speaker on Reclaiming Voice with Validation, she is beloved for her ability to provide practical tools as well as profound insight to those facing any type of transition. Her book, FLAUNT! Drop Your Cover and Reveal Your Smart, Sexy and Spiritual Self is being released on November 5, 2019. She has written for Elephant Journal; co-authored the book, The Legal Rights and Responsibilities of Teenage Parents, in law school; and has a top-rated radio show and podcast, FLAUNT!
