Brian Burlant is one of the select few recruiters having a wealth of experience servicing clients, and placing candidates, in both in-house and law firm settings. He views these practices as complementary, reflecting the ever more closely entwined relationship of law firms and their clients, and the positive value that can be provided by a proactive in-house legal department and their outside counsel.
Brian has led searches in industry sectors including technology, private funds, banking manufacturing, energy/mining and consumer products.
As our East Coast Representative on the Technology Industry Team, Brian brings deep industry experience to the recruiting needs of established and emerging companies in the technology sector. Moreover, a number of the Team's recruiters have had direct, first-hand experience as in-house attorneys for these companies; they've "walked the walk". Among the clients for whom we have successfully completed recruiting engagements are Uber, Infosys, Nokia, Ingram Micro, Ancestry.com and Shazam.
Brian came to Major, Lindsey & Africa with more than 10 years of experience as a legal recruiter and 15 years as an attorney, including as Assistant General Counsel – International for Avon Products, Counsel for Times Mirror Magazines ("Golf," "Yachting," "Ski") and as General Counsel for a publicly traded emerging technology company successfully sold to a European telecom.
Brian also operated his own recruiting firm for more than six years and served four years as a director at another leading legal search firm in New York.
