Faiyaz Hussain is a Director for In-House Counsel Recruiting. Based in Chicago, he identifies general counsel, senior-level attorneys and compliance professionals for a broad range of global, national and regional companies as well as institutions of higher education and non-profits.
Faiyaz resides in the western suburbs of Chicago with his wife, Mahrukh, and two sons, Ammar and Nabeel. In his spare time, Faiyaz enjoys playing tennis, ping-pong, volunteering his time toward social justice-related matters and subjecting people to his very mediocre karaoke performances.
Before joining Major, Lindsey & Africa, Faiyaz served as Director, Global Investigations – Office of Ethics & Compliance for Abbott Labs, where he conducted complex internal investigations relating to allegations of violation of Abbott’s Code of Conduct, the FCPA and other global anti-corruption/anti-bribery laws and regulations across all of Abbott’s international and domestic business units. Prior to that, he was lead counsel for Baxter International’s integrated pharmacy solutions and generics pharmaceutical business division. In this role, Faiyaz advised the company’s senior leadership on strategic commercial transactions and initiatives related to the global business unit. Before Baxter, Faiyaz spent 10 years in-house at Grant Thornton LLP, where he served as their lead employment lawyer for many years, before taking on various additional responsibilities including serving as one of the key members of Grant Thornton’s team that set up its offshore tax and other business process services center in India.
Faiyaz began his legal career as an associate with Winston & Strawn LLP where he spent almost five years working in their corporate and employment law groups.
