Mark is a Managing Director on our Advisory Services team.  He has, for over 30 years, helped clients manage their business and legal risks and improve their operational efficiency.  Today, he works with a broad range of clients to assess how well they deliver services to their internal stakeholders and develop and implement systems and processes to perform better.

Mark takes a holistic approach to legal department transformation.  He focuses on the development and upskilling of talent and takes an approach to organizational design that focuses both on how legal departments organize and manage their professionals and how technology can enable better performance and drive operational efficiencies

Mark lives in Richmond, Virginia, with Terri, his wife of more than 30 years. They have two adult children, Ben and Mollie. A passionate advocate for mental health and well-being, Mark is the host of our podcast, Erasing the Stigma: Conversations in Mental Health. He splits his time between Richmond; Washington, D.C.; and New York City.

Before joining Major, Lindsey & Africa, Mark was executive vice president of Hudson Legal, where he was responsible for the strategic and operational management of the company. Under his leadership, Hudson successfully expanded the scope of its core services. Mark was also responsible for leading the company's expansion of its discovery service offerings into the London market.

From 1988–1997, Mark was an associate in the litigation group at Calfee, Halter & Griswold. He represented clients in product liability, insurance coverage and commercial matters. Mark then joined Wright Robinson, Osthimer & Tatum, where he established one of the first dedicated eDiscovery practices in the country. He also served as national discovery counsel to several Fortune 500 companies. Mark was a member of the firm's executive committee and chaired its strategic planning committee. In 2008, he led the firm's merger negotiations with an AmLaw 200 firm and continued to lead the eDiscovery practice until he left the firm in 2010.
