Between the Legal Lines — An Interview with Kasey Johnson

Kasey Johnson credits her mentors and network with opening doors and creating opportunities, which is how she connected with Terminus earlier this year. In this episode of Between the Legal Lines, Kasey shares with Andrea Bricca how her role as GC expanded quickly to include business responsibilities as the Chief Administrative Officer and what qualities it takes to be a successful legal leader.


Kasey Johnson is Chief Administrative Office & General Counsel for Terminus Software, Inc, a leading multi-channel account-based marketing SAAS company. Previously, she served as General Counsel & SVP of Real Estate for Inspirato LLC, a global travel and hospitality company.

Over the past decade, Kasey has built a diverse legal background, including representing global and domestic companies in business disputes while at several prominent law firms. Thereafter, she transitioned to serving as fractional General Counsel for emerging startups and then full time as General Counsel for Inspirato. Her tenure in private practice and in-house for high-growth companies has given her valuable experience in many business sectors. Her expertise extends to such areas as business and strategic leadership, start-up ventures, project development, human resources, technology & SAAS, real estate, hospitality/travel, cyber security, data privacy, risk management, investor relations & business planning, legal and compliance. At Inspirato, Kasey built and scaled the legal team, spearheaded extensive brand partnerships, resolved company litigation, and directed the real estate strategy and business analysis for acquisitions.

As a mom to two young children, Kasey is passionate about children, families and fitness. She served on the board of BabiesNow! Foundation and as an advisor for WeeCycle, organizations dedicated to ensuring parents in need have access to critical resources for babies and children. She now serves as legal advisor to Redemption Road CrossFit, a national nonprofit committed to rehabilitation for inmate athletes. Kasey is also laser focused on improving diversity and inclusion in the business sector, prioritizing purposeful hiring and retention. She is an executive board member of the Colorado General Counsel Mentoring Program, a collection of general counsel commissioned to provide access to minority and women lawyers.

Kasey holds a J.D. from University of Denver, Sturm College of Law, graduating Order of the Coif, a Master of Arts, summa cum laude, in Higher Education from the University of Mississippi, and a Bachelor of Arts, magna cum laude, from Drake University.
