Chima Okoli is a Director in our Associate Practice Group. Based in Washington, D.C., he specializes in representing attorneys at all levels in the lateral marketplace, placing candidates in AmLaw 200 firms, regional firms and boutiques as well as prominent companies and financial institutions.
During his time at Penn State, Chima was a two-year starter and a two-time Academic All-Big Ten selection, in addition to being selected Honorable Mention All-Big Ten honors his senior season.
Chima is an avid traveler who has spent time in Croatia, Rome and Columbia over the past year. As a first generation Igbo-American, he was inspired by his father who was a Fulbright scholar and professor teaching at several universities. Chima is an avid Liverpool FC & Philadelphia Eagles supporter. In his spare time, he consults with major college athletic programs to support and mentor their student athletes.
After graduating law school, Chima began his career as assistant director of outreach and recruitment at The Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law. In this role, he developed and directed new methods of recruiting and reaching out to underrepresented groups to attend and thrive at The Catholic University. He then moved on to become the associate director of admissions at Penn State Law.
After more than five years in higher education, Chima launched Marathon Mentors to provide legal consulting to Collegiate Athletic Programs of all sizes and needs. The Marathon Mentors curriculum covers Name Image Likeness, Branding, Disclosures, Contractual Agreements and many other key topics facing programs and student-athletes alike.
