Samantha Shahriar is an Associate with our Associate Practice Group in London. Covering EMEA, she researches, maps and contacts associates to discuss their career goals and provides advice on the market, with the view of having them meet with more senior consultants to assist them with their next legal career move.
Samantha is a fan of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and enjoys catching up with friends over a glass of rosé. Her interests range from politics and international relations to pop culture, design and museums. Anything diverse, inclusion-based and women-led is right up her alley. She hopes to develop a career that will bring those ideals even further into the UK’s legal sector.
Samantha joined Major, Lindsey & Africa shortly after completing her LL.M. at University College London. While in university, she conducted strategic litigation to assist human rights lawyers and activists on best practice. She has extensive experience working in advocacy and legal research both domestically and abroad. In the past, she has provided pro-bono legal advice and representation to members of the public on housing, property and employment-related matters as volunteer at The Aberdeen Law Project.
Most recently, Samantha has been published in the UCL Journal of Law and Jurisprudence where her paper discusses the legality of States using armed military force in response to a prospective cyber-attack.
