Erasing the Stigma — Robin Belleau

Committed to the well-being of its people, Kirkland & Ellis created a unique program early in 2019 to provide their people with the support they need to address mental health and wellness issues. Robin Belleau chats with Mark Yacano about what led her to Kirkland and how the program works to make sure employees in all offices across the firm have access to the resources that match their needs.

Robin Belleau is the firm-wide director of well-being at Kirkland & Ellis. Kirkland began the program in May 2019. Robin proactively works with the firm’s attorneys and staff on issues related to mental health and substance misuse.

Robin is an attorney and Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor. She is also the former Executive Director of the Lawyers’ Assistance Program (LAP) in Illinois. LAP is a U.S.-based nonprofit organization affiliated with the American Bar Association (ABA) that provides assistance to judges, lawyers and law students in the areas of mental health and substance misuse. She is an active speaker on mental health and well-being topics and a member of the Advisory Commission of the ABA’s Commission on Lawyers’ Assistance Programs.
