As a Director – Client Development, Joe Cohen works closely with law firms and corporations to help them identify legal talent solutions that will improve the effectiveness and efficiency of their teams. He believes in establishing long-term relationships and focuses on understanding his client and their needs before making recommendations.
In his spare time, Joe enjoys playing tennis and basketball and riding his scooter around town with his daughter. He is passionate about coaching people and helping them be the best versions of themselves, which is why he spends time volunteering in the community with local organizations that help others improve their situations.
Joe began his professional career as a business relationship manager with JP Morgan Chase, where he managed existing business accounts, prospected new accounts and oversaw a wide range of banking services. He then became the director of a non-profit career services organization dedicated to connecting job seekers with open positions. After two years and a successful launch, Joe joined Administrative Services Only as an HR generalist. In this role, he worked closely with hiring managers to understand their hiring needs and conduct research to identify suitable candidates. He also implemented new recruitment, staffing and workforce development programs to meet advancements in product operations, technology and management. In 2014, Joe established a consulting and executive leadership coaching firm, 40 Pillars, which he has managed until joining Major, Lindsey & Africa.
Through 40 Pillars, Joe provided human capital consulting, leadership coaching and business strategy to a range of businesses seeking a stronger bridge between their people and their key business initiatives. He has worked with large law firms, government organizations, nonprofits, medical practices and insurance companies on strategy related to employee relations, talent management and performance improvement.
