Major, Lindsey & Africa (MLA), a leading legal recruiting firm, announced Thursday its acquisition of the rights to three analytical data reports on in-house law departments.
MLA will continue to release these reports, which it bought for an undisclosed price from General Counsel Metrics LLC, a company that surveyed more than 5,000 legal departments to collect data on their spending, staffing and compensation decisions.
"We are striving to provide more thought leadership, insight and data to our clients and candidates,” said MLA president Simon Robinson. He added that his firm wants to offer "value beyond simply search and placements."
General counsel are accountable for managing their departments' costs and figuring out how to allocate work between big firms, boutiques, automated technology services and in-house lawyers, Robinson said.
