Earl J. Barnes, II, Esq.
as Senior Vice President & General Counsel of OhioHealth
HANOVER, Md. (December 4, 2014) – Major, Lindsey & Africa (MLA), the world’s leading legal search firm, today announced the appointment of Earl J. Barnes, II, ESQ. to Senior Vice President and General Counsel of OhioHealth. Barnes previously served as Vice President and General Counsel at Northwestern Memorial Hospital (NMH) in Chicago.
Prior to joining NMH, Mr. Barnes was Vice President of Legal Affairs and General Counsel at Rockford Health System in Illinois. He also brings private practice experience to OhioHealth, having been a partner in the Chicago office of Gardner Carton & Douglas, which is now Drinker, Biddle, & Reath.
Mr. Barnes has a wealth of healthcare-related legal experience, having been involved with hospitals, healthcare systems, insurance companies, physician groups, managed care organizations, home health agencies and more throughout the course of his legal career.
Mr. Barnes received his law degree from the University of Michigan Law School and his undergraduate degree from Lake Forest College. He is a member of the Lake Forest College Board of Trustees and an Officer of the Minority In-House Counsel Association.
Mr. Barnes joined OhioHealth in May 2014.
