Leslie Goldman, a Managing Director with our In-House Practice Group, specializes in recruiting chief legal officers, chief compliance officers, deputy GCs and other senior in-house attorneys for corporations in energy, healthcare, logistics and many other industries.
Originally from New York, Leslie enjoys theater, opera, watching soccer and basketball, travel adventures with her three sons, singing and Brunellos (although she enjoys Barolos almost as much). And, she will never turn down an invite to happy hour.
Prior to joining Major, Lindsey & Africa, Leslie spent almost 10 years as vice president and general counsel (GC) for (i) Fisher HealthCare, the largest provider of diagnostic products to the US clinical market, (ii) Athena Diagnostics, a provider of proprietary genetic testing and (iii) Fisher Chemicals, a global chemical manufacturer and packager. In her GC positions, she served as part of the senior leadership teams and managed the legal function of each of these Thermo Fisher Scientific businesses. Prior to her tenure with Thermo Fisher, Leslie spent six years as a senior in-house attorney for Waste Management, based in Houston, Texas.
Leslie began her career in large law firms, starting in New York City with Proskauer Rose as a corporate/securities associate and then moving to Houston to join Vinson & Elkins' transactional healthcare group. She later practiced at Mayor, Day, Caldwell & Keeton prior to its merger with Andrews Kurth.
After 23 years as a practicing attorney, Leslie understands the needs of companies when seeking in-house attorneys at all levels. Law firms teach attorneys how to be technically proficient in their trade, but to be successful in-house, that lawyer must also have a keen understanding of the business needs and objectives of the company in order to be effective.
