Private equity arm of an international bank / portfolio company: Energy Provider investing in the expansion of its portfolio of companies through a recent acquisition of an energy provider in the Northeast U.S.
Our client was investing in the expansion of its portfolio of companies through a recent acquisition of an energy provider in the Northeast U.S. The portfolio company was planning to relocate from the Northeast to Houston, TX, and was seeking local talent for its new Texas incorporated status. Traditionally, our client had sought the assistance of outsourced General Counsel services via law firms or hired portfolio company General Counsels.
Major, Lindsey & Africa's Solutions Practice Group was able to offer our client a customized search for General Counsel-level candidates, based in Houston, TX, who possessed energy industry experience as well as the executive knowhow to assist with relocation and growth of the company. With our nationwide network of offices and candidates and footprint in the state of Texas, we were able to self-select former General Counsels that fit the competence, executive and cultural fit that our client was seeking for this important, new venture.
After an in-depth screening and interview process, our client selected to engage in a consulting arrangement with a former Fortune 500 Energy Company GC that possessed energy industry experience, lived in Houston and had the ability to work in the Northeast for the first few months. This arrangement allowed for our client to manage cost through our consulting arrangement and engage with a Texas energy law specialist who had the flexibility necessary to assist in relocation.
