My passion in life is making connections, and as a career consultant, I help my candidates reach their broader career goals through a creative, collaborative and open-minded approach. I enable positive, long-lasting placements by creating deep and meaningful connections with my clients that allow me to play match-maker on their behalf.

Ru Bhatt is a Managing Director in the Associate Practice Group and has been a member of our New York office since 2008. Ru specializes in placing attorneys of all levels in top-tier national, international, regional and boutique law firms. He also places attorneys in prominent in-house positions at companies and financial institutions. Ru distinguishes himself by taking pride in acting as a career counselor and a strong advocate for his candidates by helping them identify opportunities that are consistent with their diverse career goals.

In his free time, Ru follows his passion for music as a DJ and is actively involved in fundraising efforts for local and national LGBT charity organizations.

Experience

Ru started his career in legal recruiting when he joined Major Lindsey & Africa in 2008. Since then he has placed partners and associates of all levels at top-tier firms and in prominent in-house positions. He has developed an expertise in the New York legal market that enables him to act as a career counselor to his candidates, helping them identify opportunities that are consistent with their diverse career goals. He also prides himself as acting as a strong advocate for his candidates, counseling and coaching them through each step of the recruiting process. His tenure at Major, Lindsey & Africa has allowed him to develop deep relationships with law firm and corporate clients so he may better understand their needs and help them achieve their hiring goals. Ru takes great pride in his ability to play "matchmaker" between his candidates and clients and has enjoyed making a meaningful impact in the lives of hundreds of attorneys over the years.

Ru is also very involved in public speaking and most recently presented at the 2016 NALP Conference in Boston.
