Hanover, MD (February 19, 2018) — Major, Lindsey & Africa (MLA), the world’s leading legal search firm, announces the placement of David Delafield as chief financial officer (CFO) at Davis Wright Tremaine LLP in Seattle, WA. The search was led by Amanda K. Brady, managing partner and global practice leader, and Amy Mallow, managing director, of Major, Lindsey & Africa’s Law Firm Management Practice Group.
In his new role, David directs the firm’s finance, accounting and pricing functions, as well as being involved in strategic planning. He oversees a team of approximately 55 financial professionals. The firm has more than 550 attorneys in nine offices across the United States and in Shanghai, China.
David has spent most of his career in health care. Prior to joining Davis Wright, he was CFO at Providence Health Services where he was accountable for one of the country’s largest, integrated medical groups with more than $1.5 billion in revenue and 7,500 providers across the West Coast. Before this, David was CFO at Swedish Health Services. He began his career at Deloitte Consulting.
“Davis Wright wanted a CFO who would serve as a thought leader and true business partner to the managing partner and executive committee,” said Amanda Brady. “David’s previous experience managing all aspects of finance, business analytics, pricing and executive compensation in the matrixed and demanding health care arena, combined with a deep understanding of the intersection between business and technology from his prior roles in consulting and at Microsoft, equipped him with the ideal combination of strategic and operations expertise for our client.”
David has an M.B.A. and a B.A. from Washington State University.
