MLA Places Mustafa A. Hersi as Chief Compliance Officer at RagingBull

Hanover, MD (August 2, 2021) — Major, Lindsey & Africa (MLA), the world’s leading legal search firm, today announced the placement of Mustafa A. Hersi as chief compliance officer at RagingBull in Hunt Valley, Maryland. The search was conducted by Randi Lewis, managing director, and Simon de Meo, director, on our In-House Counsel Recruiting team.

Mustafa will oversee RagingBull's corporate compliance department and act as advisor to the general counsel. In this role, he will serve as the primary point of contact and facilitator between all operational areas to ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulatory requirements, especially concerning FTC enforced laws, including ROSCA, the FTC Act, CAN-SPAM and TCPA.

RagingBull provides financial market education to everyday traders and investors. RagingBull breaks down trading for individuals so they can be confident, take control and live without limits. Their traders are dedicated to individuals' success learning about trading stocks and options.

Before joining Raging Bull, Mustafa spent more than 15 years in corporate, government and private practice. He most recently served as a partner at Feldesman Tucker Leifer Fidell LLP and as vice president and general counsel for the National Community Pharmacists Association (NCPA), providing regulatory and legal oversight for a foundation that funds community healthcare services and represents a membership of more than 20,000 independent pharmacists. Before joining NCPA, he served as chief compliance officer at Howard University and Howard University Hospital, where he managed and led the creation of a healthcare regulatory compliance function for a university-wide health system. At the U.S. Department of Justice, Mustafa served as the chief attorney responsible for managing the financial litigation unit. As an AUSA, he prosecuted fraud and abuse claims in the higher education sector. He began his career as a litigation associate with Winston & Strawn. Mustafa earned his J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School and his B.A. from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
