Duc V. Trang Joins Major, Lindsey & Africa’s Transform Advisory Services Team

Hanover, MD (May 21, 2019) — Major, Lindsey & Africa (MLA), the world’s leading legal search firm, today announced that Duc V. Trang has joined the firm as a Managing Director on the Transform Advisory Services team. Splitting his time between London and San Diego, Duc will work in conjunction with both MLA’s Transform Advisory Services team and MLA’s market-leading legal search teams to advise law firms and in-house legal departments on the design and implementation of transformation projects that will help organizations achieve sustainable strategic value and profitable growth.

Duc founded Landon Advisory Services, which provides advisory services as well as strategy and human capital consulting. Duc’s key areas of advisory expertise include the business of law, organizational design and human capital strategy. He also coaches senior executives on developing leadership skills and enhancing performance. Landon Advisory Services will become part of the Talent Management Consulting practice assuming the MLA Transform Advisory Services brand.  


Duc brings a unique combination of experience as general counsel, global law firm attorney, author, business leader, educator, executive coach and consultant,” Greg Richter, vice president, retained search and advisory services said. “We are thrilled to have him join our team.”

Duc has worked in the United States, Asia, Europe and the Middle East. He recently published the highly acclaimed book, Architecture of Deals: Strategies for Transactional Lawyering, which focuses on innovation in legal education and training.

Previously, Duc was with Motorola Solutions, Inc., where he held several positions including general counsel for Asia Pacific & Middle East regions; global general counsel of Motorola’s Solutions & Services division; and country manager for Vietnam. Duc also held senior positions with IBM, DLA Piper, White & Case, and the Constitutional & Legislative Policy Institute.

Duc earned his law degree from Columbia University School of Law and his B.A. in Political Economy from the University of California, Berkeley.
