London, UK (November 3rd, 2022) — Major, Lindsey & Africa (MLA), the world’s leading legal search firm, today announced that Kate Olgers has joined as a managing director in the Partner Practice Group, based in the firm’s Sydney office. Kate brings valuable knowledge and insights informed by her experience as a top-tier law firm partner, the co-founder of a legal services disruptor, and a general counsel and chief legal officer.
Prior to joining MLA, Kate enjoyed a successful legal career as a partner of Allens Linklaters; co-founder of legal services disruptor AdventBalance Lawyers (now Lawyers on Demand); Chief Legal Officer and Group Executive of ASX20 Suncorp Group; General Counsel of ASX10 National Australia Bank; and General Counsel & Company Secretary at State-Owned Corporation Sydney Water.
Commenting on the appointment, Brent Harris, Vice President EMEA and APAC said, “Kate brings a valuable insider’s perspective to both our Partner Practice and In-House Counsel initiatives in Australia. We’re delighted to have her experience, expertise and energy on the team.”
“I have a strong service orientation. I’m at home in a high-performing professional services environment and enjoy working with senior stakeholders, matching talent with opportunity, so MLA felt like a natural next step for me and a place where I’m values-aligned,” said Kate. “I’m attracted to its high calibre people, collaborative culture and global reach, with its small Australian presence giving me the opportunity to help build and grow here.”
Kate earned her Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Economics from the University of Sydney and is a member of Chief Executive Women.
