What attracted you to Major, Lindsey & Africa?

Getting to work for the best global legal search firm, but also because I was placed at a former job by my now colleague and really appreciated the way of working: professional and honest, straight forward, not pushy.

What is the best part of your job?

Making people happy, offering candidates and clients advice from my own experience.

What is the most surprising part of being a recruiter?

How sometimes people I wasn’t able to place somewhere come back to me telling me how much our conversation has helped them forward and at times even leading to candidates becoming clients.

How would you describe your career in 5 words or less?

Private practice, in-house lawyer, mom, recruiter

Describe one of your successes thus far at Major, Lindsey & Africa.

I actually pitched MLA to my husband who is partner at a law firm at the dinner table. We got the search for one position but then ended up placing two candidates!

What advice would you give to someone considering becoming a recruiter?

If you are a people’s person, have good instincts and are in it to help people move forward, then go for it. Always be true to yourself and honest.

If you weren’t a lawyer or a recruiter, what career would you have had?

Perhaps a teacher of some kind. Although I used to want to join the army! I love getting into action and I am a sporty type. Just a bit too old now…

What is on your bucket list?

I’d like to travel to see some ancient places like the Great Wall of China Wall, the Chichen Itza, the Machu Pichu, the Mayan ruins of Tikal and Easter Island.
