Reinventing your legal career is possible—especially when you set your mind and intention toward your goals. Eric Burton had done everything right, but he had not followed his dream of becoming an entertainment lawyer. He found the courage to set audacious goals, which set him on a path to celebrating incremental victories. In this episode of BS: Beyond Stereotypes, Eric, who is openly gay, chats with Merle Vaughn about taking control of his career and why representation in the legal profession matters.
Eric Burton is responsible for business affairs and related legal matters on behalf of FOX Sports and its wide array of multi-platform sports assets distributed through TV, digital, mobile, and web. Since joining Fox in 2006, Eric has structured television and media deals for FOX Sports and its various affiliated sports networks and advertising divisions (including the regional sports networks and Home Team Sports). Eric’s current work includes drafting and negotiating telecast, programming, production, talent, sponsorship, and football operational agreements on behalf of FOX Sports, Big Ten Network and the United States Football League (USFL). Eric received a B.A. in Political Science/African American Studies from Stanford University, and a J.D. from UCLA School of Law.
