Hiring in the global life science market continues to be buoyant, though top talent is limited. Multinationals, mid and smaller biotech, and pharma companies are building their teams as GCs are assessing their budgets and strategies. In the U.S., we are seeing a high demand for general counsel. Companies want those roles filled quickly and preferably by someone who has experience in the industry and prior experience in the general counsel seat. In EMEA, there are fewer positions at the GC level than in previous years as there is an increasing trend to appoint a Global GC in the U.S. If the GC is appointed in Europe, then international companies often choose to appoint a GC who is U.S.-qualified.
