Hanover, MD (March 7th, 2024) — Major, Lindsey & Africa (MLA), the world's leading legal search firm, has announced the placement of Anand Shah as general counsel at YAI. YAI, one of New York’s largest healthcare non-profits, is a network of agencies which offers children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities a comprehensive range of services. The search was led by Sheri Michaels, partner, and Pamela Salling, managing director, with MLA’s In House Counsel Recruiting team in New York and Basking Ridge.
In this new role as general counsel, Anand will serve as the principal legal officer for this mission-driven nonprofit, with responsibility for the leadership and direction of YAI’s legal functions. He will work closely with the CEO, senior leadership, the board of trustees and YAI’s affiliates.

Anand brings a strong cumulative skill set to YAI, including leadership roles at HBC LP, TRU Kids Inc., Ferro USA Inc., and Toys “R” Us, Inc. He began his legal career as a business and finance associate with Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP and served as a judicial intern to The Honorable Joseph A Greenaway with the U.S. District Court, New Jersey.
Anand earned his juris doctor from Seton Hall University School of Law and his bachelor’s degree from Boston College. He is admitted to the bar in both New York and New Jersey.
