MLA Places Daynor Carman as Vice President and General Counsel at Possible

Hanover, MD (July 14, 2021) — Major, Lindsey & Africa (MLA), the world’s leading legal search firm, is pleased to announce the placement of Daynor Carman as vice president and general counsel at Possible Finance in Seattle. The search was led by Alisa Tazioli, managing director in MLA’s In-House Counsel Recruiting group in Seattle.

Possible Finance is a technology company that provides people with the financial tools to overcome day-to-day challenges, protect themselves in an emergency and build toward a better future. Through their mobile app, Possible provides a friendlier alternative to payday loans that’s less expensive, easier to repay and builds credit.

In her new role as general counsel, Daynor will oversee Possible’s legal, compliance and advocacy functions and provide strategic guidance and advice to the executive leadership team. She will also work directly with the product team to create more consumer-friendly products that will disrupt traditional payday loans, fight bank fees and expand access to credit, while proactively building relationships with regulators, consumer advocates, researchers and government affairs professionals.

“We were excited to work with Possible Finance to find their new General Counsel,” said Alisa Tazioli. “Daynor brings on-point financial services expertise, business acumen and the spirit of innovation that is well suited to Possible. It was a pleasure to be the connecting force behind this great match, and we wish her and Possible success in fulfilling their mission to make financial services more fair and affordable for lower-income Americans.”

Before joining Possible, Daynor spent more than 15 years in corporate and private practice. She most recently served as director and counsel for Alliance Data, a provider of tech-forward payment and lending solutions, where she was lead attorney for the successful launch of a digital deposits platform for Comenity Capital Bank. Before Alliance Data, she served as vice president and senior counsel at BMO Financial Group, supporting its personal and business banking groups for its U.S. affiliate BMO Harris Bank. Prior to moving in-house, Daynor spent several years as an associate with Bracewell LLP and Finn Dixon & Herling LLP. She began her career as an associate with Kerr, Russell and Weber, PLC. Daynor earned her J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center and her B.A. from DePaul University.
