MLA Places Jennifer Drimmer Rokovich as General Counsel and Corporate Secretary at Tenaya Therapeutics

Hanover, MD (January 26, 2022) — Major, Lindsey & Africa (MLA), the world’s leading legal search firm,  today announced the placement of Jennifer Drimmer Rokovich as general counsel at Tenaya Therapeutics in San Francisco. The search was conducted by Jay Kim and Carol Simon, both partners with MLA’s In-House Counsel Recruiting group in San Francisco.

Founded in 2016 by leading cardiovascular scientists, Tenaya Therapeutics is a biotechnology company that is shaping the future of heart disease treatment driven by a bold mission: to discover, develop and deliver curative therapies that address the underlying drivers of disease.

Reporting directly to Chief Executive Office Faraz Ali, Jennifer will manage the legal function and serve as a key member of Tenaya's executive leadership team. She will be responsible for the direction and management of all legal matters including governance, securities and corporate secretarial duties, as well as contracts and business transactions, healthcare compliance, employment and intellectual property.

Jennifer is an experienced public company counsel and executive leader with extensive experience representing public companies in corporate governance, contracting and legal operations. She spent the last 13-plus years with Exelixis (Nasdaq: EXEL), an oncology-focused biotechnology company, serving most recently as its senior vice president, corporate legal affairs and secretary. She provided legal support for all general and administrative functions of the company’s business while also managing a team of 15-plus professionals, including attorneys, paralegals, contracts managers and legal operations staff. Prior to her tenure with Exelixis, Jennifer was a director, legal affairs with Banks.com. She began her legal career as an associate with Morrison & Foerster. Jennifer earned her J.D. from the University of California, Davis School of Law and her B.A. from the University of California, San Diego.
