Hanover, MD (February 16, 2021) — Major, Lindsey & Africa (MLA), the world’s leading legal search firm, today announced the placement of Kelly Clement as vice president, associate general counsel and chief compliance officer at Vontier Corporation in Raleigh, North Carolina. The search was conducted by Deborah Ben-Canaan, partner and senior practice leader in Washington, D.C., and Joanna Herman, managing director in San Diego, both with MLA’s In-House Counsel Recruiting group.

Kelly will be responsible for developing and leading the Integrity & Compliance Program globally for Vontier. He will act as a strategic business partner for senior leadership to ensure compliance with industry and regulatory requirements, proactively identify compliance-related continuous improvement opportunities and advise the leadership team on how to drive a values-led Integrity & Compliance Program across the globe. Kelly will report directly to the Vontier SVP and General Counsel Katie Rowen.

Before joining Vontier, Kelly spent more than 25 years in corporate and private practice. He most recently served as chief compliance officer and assistant general counsel, litigation for SPX FLOW, Inc., a global industrial equipment manufacturing company and spin-off of SPX Corporation where he previously held the title of assistant general counsel, litigation and compliance. Prior to moving in-house, Kelly spent several years as a partner with Kaye Scholer and more than a decade with Howrey LLP, first as an associate and later as a partner. He began his career as a litigation associate with Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP in Washington, D.C. Kelly earned his J.D. from University of Pennsylvania Law School and his B.A. from Syracuse University.
