MLA Places Matthew Seiler as General Counsel for The American Physical Therapy Association

Hanover, MD (October 17, 2019) — Major, Lindsey & Africa (MLA), the world’s leading legal search firm, today announced the placement of Matthew M. Seiler as general counsel at The American Physical Therapy Association in Alexandria, VA. The search was led by Edina Beasley, managing director with MLA’s In-House Counsel Practice Group in Washington, D.C.

The American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) is an individual membership professional organization representing more than 100,000 member physical therapists (PTs), physical therapist assistants (PTAs) and students of physical therapy nationwide. APTA’s mission is to build a community that advances the profession of physical therapy to improve the health of society.

Reporting to the chief executive officer, Matthew will be responsible for overseeing the association’s legal affairs, including internal affairs and strategic planning on key initiatives to meet the association’s goals and objectives. He will also provide guidance ongoing issues such as disputes, agreements and relations with external parties.

Before joining the APTA, Matt spent almost two decades in corporate and private practice as well as a few years as a registered nurse (RN). He most recently served as the director of law and corporate secretary for Airlines Reporting Corporation (ARC), a financial clearinghouse that processes $90B in airline tickets annually for approximately 200 airlines worldwide, while providing robust data and technology solutions for the travel industry. Prior to ARC, he was staff counsel at the American Nurses Association, primarily focused on its subsidiary, the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). Matt started his legal career with Kitch Drutchas Wagner Valitutti & Sherbrook.

Matt earned his J.D. from The Catholic University of America and his BSN from the University of Michigan.
