Hanover, MD (July 8, 2020) — Major, Lindsey & Africa (MLA), the world’s leading legal search firm, today announced the placement of Paul Kirkpatrick as chief legal officer at Omnitracs in Dallas. The search was conducted by Robert Graff, partner in Atlanta, and Amber Shockey, managing director in Dallas, both of MLA’s In-House Counsel Recruiting group.
Omnitracs, LLC is a global pioneer of trucking solutions for all business models. Omnitracs’ more than 1,100 employees deliver software-as-a-service (SaaS)-based solutions to help over 12,000 customers manage nearly 1,100,000 assets in more than 70 countries. Omnitracs is a former subsidiary of QUALCOMM Incorporated, and Vista Equity Partners Fund IV completed a buyout of the Omnitracs business from Qualcomm Incorporated in November 2013.
Paul will serve as the chief legal officer for Omnitracs and a member of its executive leadership team, leading its legal department and helping drive the formulation and execution of its corporate growth strategy. Paul will also manage a team of 15 legal and contract professionals.

Prior to joining Omnitracs, Paul spent 10 years with Commercial Metals Company, the last 7 of which as the company’s vice president, general counsel and secretary, overseeing the global legal function for the Fortune 500 NYSE-listed company. Before going in-house, Paul spent 10 years as an attorney with Haynes and Boone, LLP, focusing on M&A, securities and corporate compliance.
Paul earned his J.D. from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law and his B.A. from Baylor University.
