MLA Places Robert K. Casey as Mark IV Capital’s First General Counsel

Hanover, MD (April 14, 2021) — Major, Lindsey & Africa (MLA), the world’s leading legal search firm, today announced the placement of Robert K. Casey as general counsel and corporate secretary at Mark IV Capital in Newport Beach, Calif. The search was led by PJ Harari, partner and co-global practice leader in MLA’s In-House Counsel Recruiting team in Southern California.

Mark IV Capital, Inc. is a privately held real estate investment and development firm founded in 1974. The company acquires, invests in, develops and manages commercial real estate utilizing a long-term approach to deploy capital.

As general counsel and corporate secretary, Bob will serve as the principal legal officer of the company and will advise on business, governance, compliance, real estate, regulatory, risk management and insurance matters.

Before joining Mark IV Capital, Bob served as senior finance counsel at Western Alliance Bank, providing legal guidance to the executive team of Torrey Pines Bank. Prior to Western Alliance, he was an attorney with Robert Casey Law Offices representing clients in business formations and transactions, real estate acquisitions and dispositions, financing, leasing and business disputes. He also spent several years as the vice president and chief legal officer for Brightstar Golf Group, LLC; as an adjunct professor with University of Phoenix teaching Business Law, Ethics, Management, Critical Thinking, Communications and Negotiations; and as a Major, Helicopter Pilot, Flight Instructor with the United States Marine Corps in Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Continue Hope in Somalia, Africa.

Bob earned his J.D. from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, his M.A. in Business from Webster University and his B.A. from the University of Arizona.
