Hanover, MD (17th September 2019) — Major, Lindsey & Africa (MLA), the world’s leading legal search firm, today announced that Rogier Roelen has been placed as head of legal EMEA & APAC at Kraton Chemical, a Fortune 500 specialty chemical company. The search was led by Remco Abeln and Nick Spenkelink, both of MLA’s In-House Counsel Practice Group in Amsterdam.
In this role, Rogier will be involved in all company legal and compliance matters for the EMEA and Asia-Pacific regions. With a focus on legal support of the company’s procurement activities, he will lead a team of a senior legal counsel and a paralegal based in The Netherlands and work closely with the global general counsel and chief procurement officer.

As a former director of legal and senior legal counsel, Rogier brings over 20 years of international experience in the specialty chemicals industry, gained in regional roles in Europe Asia, North and South America. During his career as director legal and senior legal counsel at AkzoNobel, Rogier provided day-to-day business legal support in a truly international environment, working in the firm’s Amsterdam, Shanghai and Chicago offices. Rogier began his law career in corporate M&A at AKD in The Netherlands.
