CASE STUDY
Our client experienced a sudden need for a new general counsel. They had a two-week timeframe in which to complete a search and onboard someone to handle the duties of a general counsel so there could not be a lapse in coverage as they undertook a more extensive search for a full-time replacement.
Working closely with Major, Lindsey & Africa’s In-House Practice Group, our Interim Legal Talent consultant conferred with the In-House consultant and client to assess the skills and qualities needed in an interim general counsel. Understanding the sensitivity around the search, we shared a blinded job description with more than 25 candidates who we screened over the
phone. We then narrowed down our candidate pool and selected six final candidates who were required to execute an NDA before moving on to an in-person interview. To maintain the client’s confidentiality, we reserved an off-site venue to conduct in-person interviews.
Interim Legal Talent placed a highly skilled interim general counsel within the client’s two-week timeframe. The chosen candidate is working effectively within the company, overseeing company transactional operations and assisting with board preparations for the company’s annual meeting.
Our client has engaged Major, Lindsey & Africa’s In-House Practice Group to find the new general counsel as well as an associate general counsel.
