MLA Places Tracey S. Pachman as General Counsel of Saint Joseph’s University

Hanover, MD (April 20, 2020) — Major, Lindsey & Africa (MLA), the world’s leading legal search firm, today announced the placement of Tracey S. Pachman as general counsel for Saint Joseph’s University in Philadelphia, Pa. The search was conducted by managing directors Elizabeth Long and Deborah Thompson of MLA’s In-House Counsel Recruiting group in Philadelphia.

In her new role, Tracey will oversee all legal matters affecting the University and provide legal advice to University leadership, officers, vice presidents, deans, department heads and others. Founded in 1851 in the Jesuit tradition of academic excellence, Saint Joseph’s is a top-ranked comprehensive university located on the border of Philadelphia and the Main Line, a suburban area west of the city, that provides a rigorous, student-centered education. With a total enrollment of 7,300+ undergraduate and graduate students, the university offers a wide array of academic programs designed so that each graduate enters the world with a competitive resume and global perspective.

Tracey comes to SJU with nearly 20 years of higher education, K–12, in-house and private law firm experience. She most recently served as deputy legal counsel with Villanova University and previously served as assistant general counsel for ARAMARK, serving the company’s K–12 and higher education business. Tracey’s background also includes a senior counsel role with Comcast. She began her career as an associate with Pepper Hamilton.
