Brian McMahon is a Managing Director in our Minneapolis office. He represents associate attorneys, individual partners and partner groups in the lateral marketplace and executes focused searches for law firm clients. He helps the attorneys with whom he works find personal and professional happiness by either confirming they are currently at the best place for them or counselling and guiding them into positions that better fit their personal needs and professional goals. Brian has also facilitated law firm mergers in Minneapolis big and small and helped national firms open and grow their offices here. He also specializes in helping attorneys from other markets who want to explore the entire legal market for opportunities in the Twin Cities. Brian practiced law here for 15 years before helping open our Minneapolis office, giving him intimate knowledge of the “local” firms in the Twin Cities.
Brian also sources and helps execute retained in-house counsel searches in Minnesota.
In his free time, Brian enjoys spending time with his friends and family. His hobbies include reading, golf, hockey and college football. He has golfed and travelled all over Ireland.
Brian was born and raised in St. Paul, Minn., and practiced law in the Twin Cities for 15 years before joining Major, Lindsey & Africa. His legal background and local connections give him a unique perspective and insight into the Twin Cities and this legal market.
Prior to attending law school, Brian worked as a sales representative and then in sales management at General Mills Inc. After law school, he worked as a litigation associate and then partner with Gray Plant Mooty and then ran his own law firm.
