Paul Williams Named One of the Most Influential Black Corporate Directors by Savoy Magazine and One of Chicago United’s Business Leaders of Color for 2017

New York  (November 16, 2017) — Paul S. Williams, co-leader of Allegis Partners’ CEO & Board Practice, and a partner at Major, Lindsey & Africa (MLA), has been named to Savoy’s 2017 Most Influential Black Corporate Directors for the second year. He was also named one of Chicago United’s Business Leaders of Color for 2017.

A public company director, and a former chief legal officer and corporate secretary of Cardinal Health, Paul places board of director and CEO candidates through his work for Allegis Partners, and also conducts general counsel and other senior legal searches through MLA’s Chicago/Midwest in-house practice group.  Paul assists organizations and boards in enhancing their diversity, and speaks frequently on diversity-related issues.

Paul currently is a member of the board of directors for two public companies: Essendant Inc., a Fortune 500 distributor of business products; and Compass Minerals International, Inc., a producer of salt and other inorganic mineral products. He currently is the compensation committee chairman for Compass Minerals and the governance committee chairman for Essendant.

Paul is also the president of the Chicago Chapter of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD).  NACD Chicago Chapter is one of NACD’s 22 chapters across the country. NACD chapters provide the director community with a forum for sharing experiential knowledge, asserting their voice in policy issues impacting the boardroom and fostering exemplary governance in the business community.  Chapters meet regularly for director education programs and board networking events.
