Hanover, MD (September 21, 2021) — Major, Lindsey & Africa (MLA), the world's leading legal search firm, today announced the placement of Lois Elizabeth Bingham as senior vice president, general counsel and secretary at Libbey in Toledo, Ohio. The search was conducted by Heather Fine, partner, and Mindy Crandus Sircus, managing director, both with MLA's In-House Counsel Recruiting team in Chicago.

Founded over 200 years ago, Libbey is a leading global manufacturer and marketer of glass and other tableware products. Libbey designs and markets an extensive line of high-quality glass tableware, ceramic dinnerware and metal flatware—under its Libbey®, Libbey Signature®, Master’s Reserve®, Crisa®, Royal Leerdam®, World® Tableware, Syracuse® China and Crisal Glass® brand names (among others)—for sale primarily in the foodservice, retail and business-to-business channels of distribution. Libbey is dedicated to increasing environmental sustainability and is transparent about the progress it’s making.

Lois will lead and manage Libbey’s legal function and coordinate the company's legal activities, serving as a key business partner and member of the senior leadership team. She will advise on all legal matters, including corporate governance, complex commercial contracts (including distribution agreements), M&A, regulatory compliance, and litigation matters.

“Lois was a natural choice to serve in this role as she has extensive general counsel experience, strong leadership capabilities and exceptional business acumen,” said Heather Fine. “She is an excellent addition to the Libbey team and will serve as a valuable counselor and advisor as Libbey continues its exciting journey. We know this will be a fabulous partnership,” added Mindy Crandus Sircus.

Lois joins Libbey after serving as the executive director of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and where she also served as president of the Detroit Alumnae Chapter of the Sorority. As executive director, she directed and oversaw national headquarter operations that supported over 300,000 collegiate and alumnae-initiated members and 900 chapters located in the U.S. and abroad, and national program initiatives. Prior to Delta Sigma Theta, she spent 12 years with Yazaki North America, a Japanese automotive supplier, most recently serving as vice president, general counsel, secretary and compliance officer. Lois also held leadership roles with R.L. Polk & Co. She began her career with Butzel Long in Detroit. She also serves on the board of USA Gymnastics. Lois earned her J.D. from Temple University School of Law and her B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania.
