ACC and MLA Launch 2021 Law Department Management Benchmarking Survey

HANOVER, MD (April 15, 2021) – The Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC), a global legal association representing more than 45,000 in-house counsel employed by over 10,000 organizations in 85 countries, and Major, Lindsey & Africa (MLA), the world’s leading legal search firm, today announced the launch of the 2021 Law Department Management Benchmarking Survey.

The largest legal department benchmarking survey in the world will create unprecedented insights into staffing, costs, operations, law firm usage, and diversity and inclusion. All corporate legal departments are eligible to participate. Responses will provide legal departments with their definitive key performance indicators (KPIs) for performance assessment. Departments answering over 80 percent of the survey are eligible to receive the final results. Please visit https://accresearch.az1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_etAdp9jiw4XuHS6?Campaign=MLA to participate before April 23, 2021.

“We are thrilled to partner with ACC again to provide impactful law department metrics,” said Gregory Richter, partner and vice president, Retained Search and Advisory Services for MLA. “This year’s survey includes ground-breaking diversity metrics, to tangibly advance one of the profession’s most critical issues. Cost pressures, staff and organizational stresses, and mounting regulations can also be addressed using actionable peer data, in contrast to the usual attitude polls. And our unique Transform Advisory team takes these metrics to the next level for clients through its proven performance improvement consultancy.”

“In a very difficult year for many, it will be incredibly helpful to measure where corporate law departments have adjusted and where challenges remain,” said Catherine J. Moynihan, associate vice president, legal management services at ACC. “Results of this survey will provide critical information the entire in-house community can lean on to target inefficiencies, improve operations, and modify resourcing strategies. We are grateful to MLA for their continued partnership to field such an important survey.”
