The Client

AmLaw 200 Law Firm

The Challenge

Our law firm client was working on a large real estate transaction from their Midwest office, and required additional attorneys in New York to review lease files for 1,300+ properties. The firm expected the work to take about two months to complete and estimated that they might need an additional attorneys for a second portion of the review.

The Solution

Having worked with MLA Interim Legal Talent previously, the client reached out to us with their immediate need for 8–12 attorneys experienced in commercial lease matters. The incredibly quick turnaround time required us to begin screening candidates immediately. Within five days, our recruiter presented candidate resumes. Over the course of the week, we successfully completed a background and conflicts check on each candidate before they started the project. Eleven interim attorneys were vetted and hired to start the project a week later.

The Results

During the two-month project, the interim attorneys successfully reviewed all documents involved in the transaction. The firm then chose to retain two candidates to assist with additional real estate needs. One of those candidates was later offered a permanent associate role at the firm. The law firm has indicated that they will turn to MLA Interim Legal Talent for future project-based needs.
