John Boyd, a Managing Director with our Partner Practice Group, advises law firms on lateral partner searches and law firm partners on lateral opportunities.

John enjoys outdoor activities, including skiing and hiking. He is an avid sports fan.

John joined Major, Lindsey & Africa after nearly two decades of operating his own management and strategy consulting firm where he advised his law firm and corporate clients on strategy development and implementation, mergers, managing legal services, and adapting to changes in the legal market.

He is an adjunct professor at the University of Colorado Law School and at the University of Denver Law School instructing students on the formation and management of law firms as well as business development. He has lectured nationally and internationally on legal services management and strategy.

John has served as administrative partner and chief operating officer for large law firms including Winthrop Stimson (Pillsbury Winthrop), a New York-based global firm, and Andrews Kurth (Hunton Andrews Kurth), a Houston-based national firm. A graduate of the University of Michigan Law School, he has practiced antitrust and business law.
