John A. Cashman is President of Major, Lindsey & Africa. He oversees the legal talent management business globally, encompassing in-house legal department, law firm associate and law firm partner recruiting and legal staffing.
John lives in the Chicago suburb of Clarendon Hills with his wife, Christi, who is a real estate partner at a major Chicago law firm, and their children. In his spare time, John reads, plays golf and volunteers for various non-profit organizations.
John previously served as Major, Lindsey & Africa’s Vice President for Law Firm Recruiting, where he was responsible for all aspects of strategy and implementation regarding recruiting partners, associates and professionals on behalf of law firms. When he was a legal search consultant, John focused his practice on representing individual partners in the lateral marketplace, practice group acquisitions and law firm mergers.
Prior to joining Major, Lindsey & Africa, John was a corporate partner in the Chicago office of Winston & Strawn. Before attending law school, John was a vice president at City National Bank in Beverly Hills, Calif.
