My prior experience as both an in-house and major law firm employment attorney has instilled in me the importance of establishing positive relationships, which as a recruiter, ultimately foster successful and enduring hires.

Amy Katz is a Managing Director with our In-House Practice Group, based in the Boston office. Using her knowledge of the legal industry, extensive experience as a practicing attorney and significant network of contacts, Amy places attorneys at all levels within public and private, non-profit and academic legal departments across the country. She has experience working with clients in a wide range of industries, most notably life sciences, healthcare and technology.

A native of Rochester, New York, Amy currently lives in Sharon, Massachusetts, with her husband, Jonathan, and their two daughters. Outside of the office, you are likely to find Amy traveling with her family, biking, spinning, exploring the outdoors and volunteering with various educational and community organizations.

Prior to joining Major, Lindsey & Africa, Amy was a partner at Outside GC, advising employers on a wide range of employment law matters, conducting workplace and academic investigations, and designing and delivering compliance training. Before that, she served as senior employment counsel for Genzyme Corporation, a global multibillion dollar biotech company based in Cambridge, Massachusetts. At Genzyme, she was responsible for advising senior management and human resources on employment law; designing and delivering HR compliance training programs; managing and resolving a litigation docket including employment, professional and product liability disputes; advising on employment aspects of corporate transactions; creating compliance and HR policies and initiatives; and managing the company's immigration program.

Amy began her legal career as an associate with Foley Hoag LLP in Boston.

Experience
